IS IT EASIER TO CAMP IN A HAMMOCK?

Yes, neither is it. I have been using a hammock for many years on ultra light backpacking trips, if you want to use a hammock to get off the ground in winter and summer. The key elements of success are:
(1) A suitable distance between two trees;
(2) Appropriate ropes (such as woven nylon tie ropes), sturdy hooks, with a minimum load-bearing capacity of 300kg or more, and the rope hooks used will not slide;
(3) Use a 3-foot long high friction closed cell foam pad on the hammock;
(4) Use braces on the head (18 "-24" long) and feet (12 "-18" long). I use a small saw to cut support rods from withered trees or branches with a diameter of about 2 inches, and also use a saw to cut a cross-sectional groove at the end of each support rod so that the nylon hammock rope can be inserted, which will be more secure and safe.
In rainy or snowy weather, I hung another rope a few feet above the portable hammock to support the waterproof cloth. In summer, I also have to carry mosquito nets in some areas.
When the high-quality and lightweight one person tent was sold at a reasonable price, I ultimately gave up the hammock method.
